Cookie Policy

This policy explains which cookies we use on 4linking.com, for what purpose, what information they collect, and how you can accept, configure, or reject them at any time.

Version 1.0 Last updated May 18, 2026 Controller 4Linking
01 · General information

Information about cookies

In accordance with Law 34/2002, of July 11, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), in relation to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of April 27, 2016, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on Personal Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), it is mandatory to obtain the express consent of the user of all web pages that use non-essential cookies before the user browses them.

This Cookie Policy forms part of the Privacy Policy and the Legal Notice of 4linking.com. We recommend reading both documents together with this one.

02 · Definition

What are cookies?

Cookies and other similar technologies —such as local shared objects, flash cookies, or pixels— are small text files that web servers download to your device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) when you visit a page. They allow information about your browsing activity to be stored and retrieved for different purposes: remembering preferences, maintaining a logged-in session, measuring how many people visit the site, showing personalized content, etc.

Cookies, by themselves, do not damage your device or access personal information stored on it. However, depending on their purpose, they may collect data about your browsing behavior, which in some cases requires your prior consent.

03 · Legal framework

Cookies subject to regulation and exempt cookies

According to European regulations, cookies that require the user’s informed consent are analytics, advertising, behavioral advertising, and third-party cookies that process personal data for their own purposes.

The following cookies are exempt from the consent requirement if they are strictly necessary to:

  • Allow communication between the user’s device and the network.
  • Provide a service expressly requested by the user (for example, completing a purchase or logging in).
  • Remember information entered by the user when completing forms.
  • User authentication or identification (session-only).
  • User security (for example, detecting failed login attempts).
  • Minimal interface personalization (language, browser type).
04 · Typology

Types of cookies that exist

According to their purpose

  • Technical and functional: allow browsing through the website and the use of its different options or services.
  • Personalization: allow user preferences to be remembered (language, region, browser type).
  • Analytics: allow user behavior to be measured and analyzed in order to improve the service.
  • Advertising: manage the advertising spaces shown to the user.
  • Behavioral advertising: collect information on user preferences in order to show personalized advertising (retargeting).
  • Social: set by social media platforms to enable content sharing.
  • Security: store encrypted information to protect against attacks.

According to ownership

  • First-party: sent to the user’s device from a domain managed by the website owner itself (4linking.com).
  • Third-party: sent to the user’s device from a domain managed by an entity other than the website owner (for example, Google, YouTube, LinkedIn).

According to storage period

  • Session: collect data while the user browses and are deleted when the browser is closed.
  • Persistent: the data remains stored on the device for a defined period, which may range from minutes to several years.

What we do not use

4linking.com does not use tracking pixels or behavioral advertising cookies. We do not have Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads, TikTok Pixel, or equivalents. We do not sell or transfer browsing data to third parties for advertising purposes.

06 · 4Linking plugin

4Linking plugin installed on client sites

This policy refers exclusively to the website 4linking.com. The 4Linking plugin, when installed on a client’s WordPress site, does not install tracking cookies or collect personal data from the final visitors of that site.

The plugin operates entirely on the client’s server: it processes content, generates embeddings, and applies Internal linking without placing cookies in the visitor’s browser. The only WordPress-related cookies that may appear on sites where the plugin is installed are WordPress’s own cookies (technical), independent of 4Linking.

If you are the administrator of a site using our plugin and have questions about the cookies in your installation, please consult the WordPress documentation and the cookie consent plugin you have enabled.

07 · Your control

How to accept, configure, or reject cookies

When you first access 4linking.com, we show you a banner managed by Complianz with three clearly differentiated options:

  • Accept all: you consent to the use of all cookies, including analytics and embedded content cookies.
  • Configure: allows you to accept or reject each purpose separately (analytics, social networks, embedded video, etc.).
  • Reject all: only strictly necessary cookies are activated.

It is as easy to withdraw consent as it is to give it. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the cookie icon shown in the lower corner of the website, or by deleting the cookies from your browser (in which case we will ask you again).

If you do not accept optional cookies, you can continue browsing the site normally, although some functionalities —such as the playback of embedded videos— may not work as expected.

08 · Your browser

Modify cookie settings in your browser

In addition to the website’s own consent panel, you can restrict, block, or delete cookies directly from your browser. The process differs depending on the browser you use:

  • Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org
  • Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com
  • Safari (macOS / iOS): support.apple.com
  • Opera: help.opera.com

There are also third-party tools that allow cookie storage to be managed centrally, such as Ghostery or Your Online Choices.

Important: if you block all cookies, some website functionalities may not be available.

09 · Data processing

Processing of data collected through cookies

4Linking (full identification details are available in the Legal Notice) is the controller of the personal data collected through its own cookies and informs you that this data will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Purpose of the processing

As specified for each cookie in section 5 of this document.

Legal basis

Your consent (Article 6.1.a GDPR), except for cookies that are strictly necessary for browsing or for providing the service expressly requested.

Data retention

As specified for each cookie in section 5. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted once their expiration period has elapsed.

Disclosure of data

Data is not disclosed to third parties, except in the case of third-party cookies (Google Analytics, Stripe, PayPal, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, X, and Instagram), whose privacy policies are linked in the previous sections, or where required by law.

Data subject rights

  • The right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Rights of access, rectification, portability, and erasure of your data.
  • The right to restriction of or objection to processing.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) if you believe that the processing does not comply with current regulations.

How to exercise your rights

You may exercise these rights by sending an email to legal@4linking.com, proving your identity. More information is available in our Privacy Policy.

10 · Updates

Changes to the Cookie Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in regulations, in the cookies we use, or in third-party services integrated into the website. We recommend reviewing it periodically.

When significant changes occur, we will inform you through a visible notice on the website and, if necessary, we will request your consent again.
